Design Information

Using the Babbage Difference Machine, also known as the Analytical Engine, Ada Developed the ideas of writing detailed procedures for programming the machine, and developed the computer programming techniques for Looping, recursion, and selection.

Ada held firmly to the idea that computers could perform a wide range of tasks, and that the only limitation was the ability to write the necessary algorithm. She felt there was no reason a computer could not write music or construct graphs, if you could issue the correct instructions.

Her view into the future was not realized until the early years of the 1940s, a century later!

The universal computer programming language, ADA, was so named to recognize the original work done by Ada Lovelace.
